Gemma Stirling

Gemma studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design before moving to Edinburgh in 2008. Gemma has since been using her urban surroundings to drive her photography-based work.

“I feel so lucky to live in a city where every corner you turn there is some new inspiration to capture.”

Gemma uses her own photographs to produce unique mixed media pieces. Everything from paint, pencil and sandpaper are used during this process. Gemma is also interested in vintage hand-tinted photographs, and uses this inspiration when producing her work.
